Proposal

1. Proposal introduction:

Gilga has been investing into early stage blockchain projects since 2017 and has become well connected in the Toronto blockchain ecosystem. If successful in this election, Gilga will partner with ICX Station to open a Toronto launchpad. This will allow for Gilga to become a source of deal flow for the ICX_Station accelerator, host Toronto based ICON events, represent ICON at local meet-ups, and push forward ICON’s vision of hyperconnecting the world.

2. Motivation of the proposal:

Gilga has been involved with the ICON ecosystem since early 2018. Rodney (One2two1) became an ICON subreddit mod in early 2018 while finishing his studies at Korea University Business School. Other than being an early investor in ICON, Gilga has also invested into multiple projects including Webloc, participated in the first ICX Station Demo Day last September, and built a strong network in Toronto.

3. Execution plan of the proposal:

1. Funding

Gilga will continue to review ICON related projects for investment opportunities.

2. ICON Deal flow

When reviewing external blockchain related investment opportunities, ICX_Station Toronto will work towards making valuable connections for the ICON ecosystem. For example – if a project has not yet chosen which blockchain it would like to build on, Gilga will push for development on the ICON blockchain through the ICX_Station global accelerator.

3. Support & Insight

Gilga has been investing in the blockchain space since 2017. ICX_Station Toronto can add valuable support and insight into business model recommendations, next steps, investor pitch deck editing, advisor referrals, project funding referrals, partnership referrals, and much more.

4. Event Representation

ICX_Station Toronto will attend and represent ICON at Toronto blockchain events and university meetups and hackathons, and will also host annual ICON Toronto meetups.

4. Expected timeline of the proposal:

ICX_Station Toronto will open immediately after election. Funding reviews, deal flow referrals, support & insight, and event representation will be ongoing. ICX_Station Toronto hosted meetups will be announced after election.
