Team Information

ICONNECT HQ: Nairobi Kenya

We are a global team with strong roots in Africa that seeks to advance the adoption of blockchain technology, providing benefit to our communities and the ecosystem. Our team came together because we believe that digital ledger technologies (DLTs) and Digital Assets can create digital bridges that enable trade and commerce around the world.

Proposal

1. Proposal introduction

  1. We offer robust infrastructure and experience in block production and verification.

  2. Our blockchain software developers bring experience in building dapps which will add value to the ICON ecosystem.

  3. We believe in the power of interoperability to unlock the potential of the blockchain space by enabling frictionless communication and value transfer between chains.

  4. We offer consulting and advisory services to international organizations such as the Africa Digital Asset Foundation (ADAF) which seeks to create standards for interoperability such as the ones offered by the ICON Network.

  5. Our experience building and supporting various chains allows us to participate actively in nurturing the interchain communication between ICON and the other blockchain networks we have experience in.

2. Motivation of the proposal

By connecting various siloed blockchains, ICON has the potential to unleash massive value and create digital bridges for value exchange. We believe these bridges will be a core part of web 3.0. ICON has demonstrated great progress in becoming the OS for a hyperconnected blockchain world. ICON is right on course with its development roadmap having completed the wallet, SDKs for Java and Python, ICON core and IIP/IRC protocols.

We believe that the value of the Icon network will be as strong as the communities that support it through the development of decentralized applications, community bounties and air drops as well as collaboration with other networks to realize the Icon dream.

We are also highly excited to enable the adoption of ICON on the African continent.

3. Execution plan of the proposal

  1. Release of ICON Go! An ICON dedicated newsletter for things happening in the icon community.

  2. Testnet Activation, for internal Dapps that will be open sourced.

  3. Release of standards and POCs that can be built on ICON for governments, civil society groups and blockchain companies

  4. ICON Africa Meetup 1.0

  5. ICON Africa Developer Program launch

  6. Vie as a Public Rep

  7. Field candidates from our community for community rep

  8. Partnerships for development of ICON Network

  9. Further development of ICON protocol through voter proposals

  10. Partnership and community engagement to advance ICON brand

  11. Advancement of ICON Africa Dapp Development Program
