The focus of the hackathon is to drive innovation and dApp development on the ICON network while also introducing CAN and its mission to the blockchain community. This 2-day event will gather 80+ programmers of varying backgrounds and skill sets to “hack” or work collaboratively on blockchain projects for ICON network. Participants will learn how to program using ICON technologies on the first day and then team up to build workable decentralized applications on the second day.

    Schedule

    • Day 1 - Intensive ICON Developers Workshop: Intensive ICON Developers Workshop for  developers with programming skills but little to no ICON network programming knowledge. The aim of the workshop is to give programmers a thorough tutorial on ICON dApp development. Participants of this workshop will gain an understanding on how to deploy their applications to ICON network.
    • Day 2 - 26 Hour Main Hackathon. The official start of the hackathon where participants, hereby referred to as ‘hackers’, will participate in team building, project brainstorming and the beginning of a 21+ hour development session to build their projects. The following day concludes the development session and allows time for hackers to present their final project pitch. The final project pitch involves each team presenting their proof-of-concept and minimum viable products to be judged and voted on by their peers.

To push competitiveness and reflect the decentralized nature of ICON DAO and ICON network, prizes will be awarded based on contribution and consensus by all involved parties including fellow hackers. Prizes will be awarded based on execution, creativity and potential impact on the network or the project’s target users.
